Wimbledon Art Studios is based in South West London near Wimbledon and is the largest single site art studio complex in Britain. Established in 1993 within a working paper warehouse, the studios opened with just 6 artists renting spaces alongside the paper business. Now, the original warehouse consists of over 155 studio spaces with another 60 in a purpose built art complex on the same site housing over 220 artists. The twice-yearly Open Studio Art Shows are the only time that the doors are open to the public. It is only then that you can appreciate the immense scale of the site and the exciting, eclectic mix of talent residing within. Wimbledon Art Studios is now an extremely well respected and vibrant hub of contemporary art with artists ranging from the emerging to the seriously well established. The studios hold a twice yearly Open Studios Art Show attracting over 4000 visitors per show.
