Established in 1968, Space is an arts educational charity that produces dynamic environments where individuals and communities can engage in creative processes. It provides affordable studio space and an artistic, educational and media and IT training programme that benefits both the individual and the community.

Space has been selected by Thames Gateway Development Corporation to manage a new creative quarter in Barking. Situated on the scenic River Roding, Covering 15,000 sq ft The Malthouse is the first building to be completed in what is set to become a new major creative quarter for East London.

Space is currently seeking creative businesses, organisations and individuals to take up workspace, and will be developing further programmes in the area building on its expertise in media arts and community engagement.
