The space concerned is a partially covered (12,000 sq ft covered) outdoor space fronting directly onto the world famous Portobello Road. It can be used as one large space or three interconnected spaces. There are no limits to its use - all sensible offers are accepted. We can offer 'short' leases of up to 2 years and would be willing to talk about longer term ideas which offer commercial return.
It is equidistant between Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Grove Stations - on the attached map it is marked as the Portobello Development Site. A scale architectural survey of the Trusts whole site and its context is also attached.
Westway Development Trust was formed in 1971 to develop for community benefit the 23 acres of derelict land created by construction of the A40 Westway flyover. The Trust owns and manages Westway Sports Centre and Portobello Green Fitness Club, as well as an extensive portfolio of commercial property and workspace for local charities. Our estate stretches from Westbourne Park to White City and includes the regenerated Portobello Green area of creative businesses, retail and public space around the Portobello Market Tent and the Westway Portobello Market area.
We are involved in urban regeneration, education, arts and sports development - with a focus on access for those most in need. As a community-based regeneration organisation we work in partnership with the local voluntary, public and private sectors, as well as providing project and support grants to local community organisations and education and training grants to local individuals.
